How to reduce Air Pollution

The most common problem in recent days is Air pollution. In recent years we found Delhi, Gurgaon air pollution, It not just a problem in Delhi, It’s going day by day in a big issue. Recently we find in Kolkata near Nagerbazar, Jadavpur, Victoria it’s hight air pollution. The AQI (Air Quality Index) measure that it’s sometimes going over 450 degrees. The International standard as per fresh air is 20-100 (Moderate).

The AQI calculates the average of Chemicals Ozone, Sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, Carbon Monoxide particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers, and particles smaller than 10 micrometers.

Cause of Air Pollution

Basically, We all know the cause. We can divide into two sections

  1. Indoor air pollution.
  2. outdoor air pollution.

Let’s first talk about outdoor air pollution. The outdoor air can be polluted by natural sources and human sources. Natural sources air pollution depends on Pollen, bushfires and the dust from deserts and the human sources depend on industry gas. burning fossil fuel and motor vehicles.

Particulate matter is a complex mixture of small particles and liquid particles. They are mainly produced by industry and motor vehicles. Dust Storms and bushfires can also generate PM (Particulate matter). The diameter of this PM is 10 microns, 5micron, and 2.5 microns. Those particles are effects on the deepest part of the lungs and the blood.

Nitrogen dioxide is usually formed from burning fuel at high temperatures also from industry, power plants, gas stoves.

Carbon Monoxide is formed from motor vehicles and high traffic congestion. other sources are industry, bush fire. It’s a transparent gas.

Sulpher dioxide, led to even 100’s of other gas are the main cause of Air pollution.

Health effects

There are many health issues that will arise depends on Type, concentration, length of exposure, individual characteristics.

The Minor effects are eye, nose, throat irritation and severe effects are heart or lung disease and even cancer.

Let’s Talk about the solution

If we going to review any country on this subject, china is going to no1. The statistically year 2012-2017, In these 5 years china reduce 30% of air pollution. So what they did to do so? Congratulations to china’s national cleaner program and the regional Beijing program. Both programs are well planned with specific targets and time-bounded.

Air Quality monitor

India govt took action on 17th April 2018, a National air program. The focus area of this program is to plant air quality monitoring system in every city so that the system monitors the air quality. and it’s also focused on the forecasting system. This system will notify us of the upcoming pollution reports. It’s also can focus on indoor air quality.

The main problem is no time-bound rules.

Other Solutions

This is the time to use clean energy sources, reduce the impact of development and strong rules and regulations by govt. Also for industries to reduce emissions, prevent environmental accidents. and technological innovations like electric cars. And for everyone to reducing fossil fuels, use public transport, for short-distance walking and plant trees as many as possible. So we can save the next generation.

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s equally educative and amusing, and let
me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something which too few men and women are speaking intelligently
about. I’m very happy I found this in my search for something concerning this.
